WiaTag is a compatible application that turns your smart phone into a GPS Tracking terminal, much like an OBD or Wire-in IoTplot terminal. When you purchase a WiaTag subscription package, your welcome email will include a link and QR code, each of with can be used to automatically sign in the WiaTag application and immediately begin tracking your phone/user.

The main screen of the application consists of the following elements:
- icon for going to the settings;
- icon for switching between widgets and the map;
- Widgets section;
- Tracking section.
4 – Map
In the Map mode, you can see your location. In addition, the widgets available to the user are also displayed here.
To open the map, tap the icon  in the navigation bar. When you tap the icon , you exit the map mode.
To select the map, tap the icon  and select one of the available options.
Zooming
To zoom the map, use special gestures:
- double tap or spread to zoom in;
- single tap or pinch to zoom out.
Rotating the map
You can rotate the map using a rotation gesture with two fingers. To return the map to its original position, tap the compass icon.
Determining your own location
To determine your own location on the map, tap the icon . As a result, the map focuses on the location of the mobile device, and the icon turns blue.
5 – Tracking
In this section, you can send/view data on the location of the mobile device. Enable or disable sending this data to the server using the switch.
By default, most of the section is hidden. Expand the section to see all the information it contains:
- location accuracy;
- time when the last message was sent;
- speed;
- coordinates (to copy them, tap the icon );
- altitude of the unit above sea level in meters.
If the icon is displayed in the section, the required phone settings or permissions are missing for the correct operation of the section. In this case, tap the section, follow the instructions and tap Continue in the window that opens.
The ability to turn off tracking can be disabled for the user. Please contact us to request that this feature be disabled.
6 – Settings
Select the operation mode, configure widgets, contact the developers of the application, etc.

Unit properties | The unique ID of the unit, host, and port. This information may be requested by our support team if you submit requests regarding this application. |
Operation mode | The selection of the operation mode. |
Work on schedule (Android versions only) | The ability to enable/disable the scheduled operation of WiaTag for working hours automatically. |
Widgets | The configuration of features/widgets. |
Troubleshooting | Contact the developers. To use this function, an email client should be installed on the mobile device. We recommend creating a ticket to reach out to us directly as your first line of support. |
Send logs | The ability to send logs for analyzing errors in the application performance. This action may be requested by our support team if you submit requests regarding this application. We recommend not using it unless requested. |
Logout | Logout from the application. |
Version | The number of the application version. |
7 – Operation Mode
Select a suitable operation mode. The operation mode influences the battery consumption and the accuracy of positional data.
Mode | Description |
Light | The mode which allows saving battery power and receiving approximate data about the location of the unit. |
Standard | The mode which allows consuming battery power moderately and obtaining accurate tracks of the unit. |
Custom | The mode which you can customize according to your requirements. |
To determine the unit location, the application uses Google algorithms which allow identifying the coordinates by means of GPS, Wi-Fi and cell stations.
