Supported vehicles and protocols

IoTplot OBD terminals support the widely used OBD II SAE J1979 protocol and associated parameters. If your vehicle has an OBD port, the terminal is supported. In addition, some electric vehicles without an OBD port are supported but an adapter (not provided) is required. Contact your vehicle manufacturer for supported OBD adapters. 

In addition some manufacturer specific OEM parameters are supported. The lists below detail which of these vehicles and OEM parameters are supported.

Heavy duty vehicles 

IoTplot OBD terminals also support SAE J1939 protocol used in heavy-duty vehicles. An adapter (not provided) may be used to support connection of the OBD II IoTplot terminal to a J1939 port.

Safety information

This message contains information on how to operate the IoTplot OBD terminal safely. By following these requirements and recommendations, you will avoid dangerous situations. You must read these instructions carefully and follow them strictly before operating the device!

  • The device uses a Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) limited power source. The nominal voltage is +12 V DC. The allowed voltage range is +10..+30V DC.
  • Before usage, the device should be placed so that its LED indicators are visible. They show the status of device operation.
  • Before unmounting the device from the vehicle, ignition MUST be OFF.

Precautions

Do not disassemble the device. If the device is damaged, the power supply cables are not isolated or the isolation is damaged, DO NOT touch the device before unplugging the power supply.
All wireless data transferring devices produce interference that may affect other devices which are placed nearby.
Please consult representatives of your vehicle model regarding OBD II location on your vehicle. In case you are not sure about proper connection, please consult qualified personnel.
The device is susceptible to water and humidity.
Installation and/or handling during a lightning storm is prohibited.
Geolime is not responsible for any harm caused by attempting to tamper with or connect a computer to this device.
WARNING! Do not use the IoTplot OBD device if it distracts driver or causes inconvenience due to OBD II placement. Device must not interfere with driver.

 

Geolime will honor the manufacturer warranty for a period of 12 months. All batteries carry a reduced 6 month warranty period. If a product fails within mentioned warranty period the product can be:

  • Repaired;
  • Replaced with a new product;
  • Replaced with an equivalent repaired product fulfilling the same functionality;
  • Replaced with a different product fulfilling the same functionality in case of EOL for the original product.

During the return merchandise authorization (RMA) part of the warranty process, a technician examines the information provided by a customer in an RMA request form in order to determine whether the equipment is eligible for warranty repair. The RMA request form contains company, addressing and malfunctioning product information and must be filled out by the product’s owner and approved by a Geolime technician before returning a product.

Please note that warranty coverage does not include issues resulting from intentional damage, accidental damage, or improper use. Refer to the table below for information on which hardware related issues are covered by the warranty service and which issues are not.

The table below is designed to help you determine whether your device’s hardware issue is covered by our warranty service and whether it needs to be sent in for RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) or if it can be resolved on-premises.   • Device was damaged because it was operating or being stored not in accordance with its IP (Ingress Protection) code (for example, the device was exposed to too much water or dust because of being placed in improper conditions).
  • Device was damaged intentionally, accidentally or because of improper use.
  • Device case was opened by customer.
