To keep your foods fresh and medicines safe consider supplementing your existing systems with a wireless BLE sensor linked to a IoTplot wire-in terminal to monitor temperature and humidity. Setup is straightforward (as simple as a two wire power hookup in the cabin and fastening a wireless sensor in your cargo compartment), and you can monitor cargo temperatures and exceptions from your phone or computer. You can also trigger a notification if temperature or humidity values are outside of acceptable ranges.
